RYAN.—On the 28th October, at his residence, 58 St. Helen's road Hawthorn East, Joseph John, dearly beloved son of Margaret and the late Michael Ryan, beloved brother of James (deceased), Charles (killed in action, A.I.F.), John, William, Margaret, and Michael, aged 38 years, late of Port Melbourne (Private interment)[2]

Private William T. Ryan, who was wounded at the Dardanelles, is a native of Ballarat, where his father took part in the Eureka Stockade. He is the youngest son of the late Michael F. Ryan, and is also a nephew of Messrs. Simon and John Hanley of Rochester district. where he has also many cousins.[3]
