William Melville married Mary Farrelly.

Obituary

An old and respected resident of the Tower Hill district, in the person of Mr William Melville, died at Crossley, on Friday, at the age of 82 years. The late Mr Melville came from County Limerick, Ireland, and in 1842 he landed at Adelaide, afterwards coming to Tower Hill, in the early days, and lived 10 years at Parnlon, and then returned to the Tower Hill district, where he lived nearly all the time until his death. He was present at the Ballarat Stockade trouble. Deceased leaves a widow, four sons and five daughters.[1]
