The first significant arrival of Canadans to Australia was after the 1837 rebellions in Canada when 150 Canadians were transported as convicts. The goldrushs of the 1850s and 60s attracted significant numbers of Canadians. It is believed Canadian Charles Ross designed the Eureka Flag.[1]
