Background

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

James Turner was a private in the 40th Regiment (Reg No 2978), and probably a participant in the Eureka Stockade battle. [1]

Post 1854 Experiences

He was a member of the 58th Regiment during the New Zealand Maori Wars 1860-64.[2]
