Background

Born 1811, Deqal, Kent UK. Fowler was a blacksmith who married Elizabeth Isabella Goldsmith at Ross, Tasmania in 1835. They had for children: Amelia born 1842 Launceston, Tasmania (married Joseph Orme on 26 January 1863 at Buninyong, and died 24 February 1886; Emma born 1844 at Launceston; Eleanor Elizabeth (Ellen) born 15 January 1847 Melbourne (married Jonathan Arthur Raynor Hall on 7 November 1863 at Durham Lead, Victoria, died 9 October 1904 Creswick; William Henry Goldsmith Fowler born 1850 at Geelong and died 1875 Geelong.

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

According to family oral tradition he was at the Eureka Stockade, sharpening weapons for the stockaders, but he was sent home because he had young children.

Post 1854 Experiences

Died 4 July 1871 in Buninyong, Victoria.
