Michael Gleeson

Background

Michael Gleeson was born in 1823, and baptised at Gowran, Kilkenny, Ireland on 02 March 1823. He arrived Victoria 1852.[1]

He was the brother of Martin Gleeson and Edward Gleeson. [2]

Gleeson died in 1899.[3]

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Gleeson was one of 123 taken prisoner at Eureka on or soon after the Eureka battle, but were released for lack of evidence. [4]

Post 1854 Experiences

Gleeson obtained land at Anakie in 1868 and built 2 dwellings on it and probably housed his aged parents, Edward Senior and Mary Lyons.[5]
