Patrick O'Day

Background
Patrick O’Day was born around 1826 in Ballingary, Tipperary, Ireland and was in the British Army. He married Mary Wall in 1854. Patrick O’Day died in 1906 and is buried at the Ballaarat New Cemetery.
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
O’Day trained the pike men at the stockade but was absent during the battle on 3 December 1854 as his wife was due to give birth to their child.
Post 1854 Experiences
O'Day became a businessman, being a baker and publican.
