Background

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

William Dalgliesh was a witness after the Eureka Battle of 03 December 1854. He said: I was at a meeting on Bakery Hill on the 30th ultimo. Dalgliesh recognised John Manning as one of a party of about twenty being drilled armed with pikes, but he did not know who commanded them.[1]
