Dorothy Wickham is a director of Ballarat Heritage Services and consulting historian. As the former School Archivist at Ballarat Grammar she is passionate about archives, museums studies, education, heritage and history. She was Honorary Research Office for Ballarat & District Genealogical Society for over ten years before undertaking a Master of Philosophy degree at Australian Catholic University. After being awarded a scholarship from University of Ballarat in 2004 she completed her doctoral studies researching women on the early goldfields. In 2012 she was awarded an Honorary Research Associate of the University of Ballarat. She continues to sit on many committees in an honorary capacity including Ballaarat Cemetery Advisory Committee, Professional Historians’ Association Editorial Committee, Australian Society of Archivists (SIG) Executive, Victorian Association of Family History Organisations (VAFHO) , Victorian Interpretive Projects Inc. President, and is a founding member of the Australian Women’s Archive Project Committee.
