Background
David Brough was born on 01 December 1821 at Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland to parents Peter Brough & Mary Williamson. He married Jean Cameron on 24 July 1847 at Blairgowrie, and they sailed to Australia on the Emma Eugenia landing at Portland in 1852 with their two daughters.[1]
David Brough died on 01 November 1900 at Bendigo,[2] and is buried in Bendigo Cemetery.[3] His wife, Jean, died on 10 August 1898, aged 70, and is buried in the same grave.[4]
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
The Brough family in Ballarat at the time of the Eureka Stockade, and heard the shots of the battle In 1856 David Brough was a miner residing at Ballarat when he signed the Benden Hassell Petition. [5]
Post 1854 Experiences
Brough later moved to Moyston and Bendigo. He spent some time in Charters Towers, Queensland while his family remained in Bendigo.[6]
