Background

Henri De Brot was born at Brot. He sailed to Australia on the Earl of Charlemont which was shipwrecked off Barwon Head on 18 June 1853. Henri married Ellen Norris. He died on 21 October 1909 at Broomfield.

Debrot was in Ballarat at the time of the Eureka Stockade.

De Brot was born c1835 at Switzerland. He travelled to Australia in 1853 on the Earl of Charlemont, leaving from Liverpool. The ship struck a reef off Barwon Heads. De Brot died on 21 October 1909 in Victoria. His obituary states “He immediately joined the ranks of the diggers and was in Ballarat when the Eureka riot occurred.”
