Background
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
John Donolly was a private with the 40th Regiment, and was present at the storming of the Eureka Stockade. In a witness statement Donolly said he saw John Joseph with a double-barrelled piece in his hand outside the Eureka Stockade. Donolly saw Raffaello Carboni inside the stockade armed with some weapon.[1]
