Background

Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Penneluna witnessed soldiers on the way to the Eureka Stockade on 03 December 1854. He was woken by his friend, Joseph Penrose, as the soldiers passed their tent. Penneluna gave a statement in support of Joseph Penrose's claim that he had not taken part in the Eureka Stockade.[1]
