Background

Thomas Budden was a gold digger at Ballarat, arriving on the goldfield around 1852.


Goldfields Involvement, 1854

Although not an active participant Thomas Budden saw the building of the Eureka Stockade stating there were move than 1000 involved in its construction. He believed the slabs made in the construction belonged to miners and were taken by force. He also considered it badly constructed.


Post 1854 Experiences

Thomas Budden gave evidence during the 1855 Goldfields Commisssion.
