Background

In 1968 Ballarat's Rotary Cup Walkathon was held to raise money to erect a life-size diorama at the Eureka Stockade Memorial Park. George Wilmot, President of the Rotary Club of Ballarat explained that 22 Rotarians had volunteered to walk distances fro one mile to 15 miles. My Wilmot said many tourists had been disappointed at the lack of historic information at the world famous stockade, [1]
