Background
Jane married Stephen Cumming at 1845 at Cornwall. The Cummings sheltered Peter Lalor at their tent at Pennyweight Hill.
Goldfields Involvement, 1854
Jane Cumming is said to have cooked bread and meat for Peter Lalor on his escape to Geelong. Along with Phoebe Emmerson she helped Peter Lalor to Father Patrick Smyth's presbytery after he was found badly injured after the Eureka Stockade battle. [1]
