Aluson Ward

Background

Aluson P. Ward was an American, born Massachussets in 1822. He sailed to South Australia in 1847, spent two years in Tasmania, worked on a pastoral property at Lake Hindmarsh, and came to Ballarat around 1853. He was active in the Diggers' Cause. He collected arms and ammunition at Eureka.

He later took up land at Dean and opened a butchery. [1]
