Background

William Tulloch married Emma Georgina Gude in 1851 at the Presbyterian Church, Geelong. In 1853 Tulloch was running a store in Ashby and by 1855 he had a store in Main Road, Eureka. [1]

Obituary

One of the eldest of the pioneers of Ballart has passed away, in the person of Mrs William Tulloch, who died at her residence last night, at the advanced age of 83. The deceased lady, who was born in England, arrived in Ballarat 54 years ago, and had a vivid recollection of the Eureka struggle, which did not occur till two years after she reached Ballarat. Her husband predeceased her by 12 years.. Mrs Tulloch leaves a family of six sons and four daughters. Mr James Tulloch director of the Ballarat Brewing Company; Mr Charles Tulloch, brewer to the company; and Mr Harry Tulloch, of Tulloch and King, Lydiard street, are sons of the deceased.'The funeral, which will be private, will take place to-day. ref>Ballarat Star, 17 August 1916.</ref>
